What are Responsive Education Solutions?
Responsive Education Solutions is a non-profit organization that provides tuition-free public charter schools for elementary and secondary education to economically disadvantaged families and at-risk students and special needs students. Responsive Education’s main goal is to provide hope to economically disadvantaged children, to inspire hope for the future. It’s easy to lose hope when you barely know where your next meal is coming from. Alleviating some of these stress-off families is what Responsive Education strives for by offering decreased or even free tuition to these families. Responsive Education is also working at a free or discounted lunch initiative for the children who participate in their program.
How Does Responsive Education Solutions Make Money?
Responsive Education Solutions relies mainly on donations from the public to keep the program running. Instead of relying on philanthropy to build or acquire new schools, Responsive Education Solutions employs a cycle of the lease, grow, buy, and expand to fuel its district growth.
Benefits of Responsive Education Solutions
Responsive Education Solutions’ main benefit to the community is that it offers everyone the opportunity to get a good education, no matter their financial situation, their heritage, background, disabilities, or socio-economic position.
Responsive Education Solutions offers a tailored learning experience that caters to every learning ability, no matter how advanced the student’s learning ability is. All of their schools offer college-preparatory courses to bridge between school and college-level standards.
Responsive Education Solutions also offers high-risk children a second chance even when no other school would. Therefore, helping uplift the communities they are involved in and improving the socio-economic status of those regions gradually.

What is Responsive Teaching?
Responsive teaching or culturally relevant teaching is the teaching method and practice grounded in which teachers will display skill at teaching in a cross-cultural setting.
Teachers who use this method of teaching often encourage students to relate the course content to their cultural context.
While the term specifically deals with the Education of African American students in the United States, it is a proven effective teaching method for students from all races and ethnic backgrounds.
Research revealed the need to bridge the gap between traditional Aboriginal Education and Western education systems in Canada. To resolve the gap, Aboriginal educational practices were included in the curriculum. By making Education culturally relevant, academic achievement is improved.
The characteristics of Responsive teaching are:
- Validating and affirming – Responsive teaching acknowledges the strengths of the student’s diverse heritage through validation and affirmation.
- Empowering – Responsive teaching empowers students by allowing them to excel in the classroom.
- Liberating – Responsive teachers liberate students.
- Multidimensional – Responsive teaching encompasses many areas and applies multicultural theory to the learning environment, teaching methods and evaluation of students.
- Comprehensive – Responsive teaching is comprehensive because it uses cultural resources to inform and teach skills, values, and attitudes.
- Transformative – Responsive teaching is transformative because educators and students must often defy traditional educational norms.
Responsive teaching connects the student and the content in a meaningful manner, leading to higher academic success rates. It is grounded in the teacher’s understanding of and connection with her students.
Responsive Education Solution, Inc. has played a significant role in Texas in terms of academic upliftment and Education in economically disadvantaged regions. ResponsiveEd tailors each learning experience through character-based curriculums and responsive teaching methods.
